

Rick Speas, President
Since 1998 Rick Speas has served as pastor of Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Prior to serving at Old Town he pastored Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilkesboro. Speas is in his second year of service as president and for two years prior served as first vice president. He previously served on the BSCNC Local Arrangements Committee, Resolutions Committee and Committee on Committees, which he chaired for one year. He is also on the Board of Ministers for Campbell University. Speas has a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received his undergraduate degree from Campbell University.

Ed Yount, First Vice President
Ed Yount has pastored Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover since 1993. Yount chaired the Giving Plans Study Committee and has served in other areas of denominational leadership as a member of the BSCNC Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, member of the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute Board of Directors, moderator of Catawba Valley Baptist Association and trustee of the International Mission Board. All three churches where Yount previously pastored are in the top 100 churches for Cooperative Program giving in North Carolina. Yount earned a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Mark Harris, Second Vice President
Mark Harris is pastor of First Baptist Church in Charlotte. Harris, who delivered the Convention sermon two years ago, has pastored First Baptist for about four and a half years. Harris also pastored Center Grove Baptist Church in Clemmons for 11 years and Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga., for six years. Harris holds degrees from Appalachian State University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is completing his term as a member of the board of trustees for Southeastern Seminary where he has also served as Chairman.

Milton A. Hollifield, Jr., Executive Director-Treasurer
Milton A. Hollifield, Jr. Executive Director-Treasurer Milton A. Hollifield, Jr., was elected Executive Director-Treasurer of the Baptist State Convention on April 11, 2006. Since 1998 Hollifield served as Executive Leader for the Mission Growth Evangelism Group of the BSCNC. Hollifield served as associate pastor of West Asheville Baptist Church and pastor of First Baptist Church in Stanley. Hollifield served as director of missions for Gaston Association for two years prior to joining the BSCNC staff. Hollifield received a bachelor’s degree from Mars Hill College and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
